Organizers announced today via press release the full lineup for this year’s three-day music event Lyrical Lemonade Summer Smash the premier hip-hop music festival in the Midwest. Returning Friday, June 23 through Sunday, June 25 to Chicagoland, Illinois.
According to the release, after spending four years at Douglass Park on the west side of Chicago, Summer Smash will relocate this summer to a new festival home – SeatGeek Stadium. The outdoor event will feature two main stages, one of which will be housed within an outdoor stadium while the other main stage will be custom-built and constructed on outdoor turf nearby in addition to a third indoor performance stage.
After creating what has become one of the largest independent music festivals in North America that hosted over 90,000 total attendees last year across three days, with fans hailing from a record-setting 29 international countries and all 50 U.S. states, festival organizers at Lyrical Lemonade and SPKRBX have invited many of today’s most sought-after hip-hop acts to perform in their hometown this summer to celebrate the festival’s fifth anniversary.
Two of the most influential and commercially-successful rappers of this generation, Cleveland’s very own Kid Cudi and legendary Atlanta-based trap-rapper Future, will help kick off the 2023 festival with headlining performances on Friday and Saturday night, respectively. Festival alum and chart-topping emcee-turned-fashion icon Playboi Carti will return to headline on Sunday night to close out the three-day festival.
Three of this year’s most viral music artists – Ice Spice, GloRilla, and Central Cee – will also soon travel to Chicago for their first-ever Summer Smash performance, while other first-time festival performers include Vince Staples, Freddie Gibbs, Luh Tyler, and Lil B.
Each day of the weekend will feature a very special guest performance from three-time Summer Smash performer Lil Uzi Vert, New Orleans-based rap duo $uicideboy$, and one of Chicago’s most sought-after music acts, who will be announced closer to the day of the show.
Three-day GA ($275+) and VIP ($499+) tickets will be available for purchase today, April 14 via www.TheSummerSmash.com, in addition to single-day GA ($99) and VIP ($199) tickets.

ABOUT LYRICAL LEMONADE:
Launched in 2013 by Cole Bennett, Lyrical Lemonade began with a mission to spotlight Chicago rappers who were getting zero or very little coverage elsewhere. It found a gap between what was attracting media attention and what local hip-hop heads wanted to hear, and it made that space its niche. Since its inception, Lyrical Lemonade has worked to establish itself as one of the most influential media platforms in hip-hop. Through music videos, artist relationship content, live events, high-demand apparel, and now even real drinkable lemonade, the company has blossomed into a national success.
