Vulvodynia, hailing from South Africa, just dropped a new single, “Eulogy of Ashes,” which is a tribute to The Black Dahlia Murder‘s late Trevor Strnad.
Fittingly for a Trevor tribute, the song is more melodic than a lot of the band’s work. They usually have a more brutal, slamming sound. The song also explores themes of death, legacy, and the afterlife.
Of the track vocalist Duncan Bentley says:
“We wanted to try something different with this song and incorporate more melody while still keeping the aggressive edge that fans expect from us. The lyrics are inspired by the idea that death is not the end, and that even after we’re gone, our art and our legacy can continue to live on and inspire others.”
