Daniel Caesar’s third album, Never Enough, has landed on the charts. His first album for Republic Records opens at No. 2 on Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart.
Never Enough marks Caesar’s highest debut of all his albums on this chart, following 2019’s CASE STUDY 01 and 2017’s Freudian, which opened at No. 3 and No. 6, respectively.
Caesar’s latest effort starts at No. 6 on Billboard’s Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. His last album, released on Golden Child Recordings, entered No. 10 in July 2019. Meanwhile, his acclaimed debut, Freudian, bowed at No. 16 in September 2017.
Never Enough was welcomed onto the Billboard 200 chart at No. 14. Caesar’s previous high mark came when CASE STUDY 01 debuted at No. 17.
Freudian, certified platinum by the RIAA, claimed the No. 25 spot on the main albums chart in its first week.
Caesar’s Never Enough success didn’t stop on the album charts. He had three songs become new entries on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart, which reflects the “most popular songs, ranked by audio and video streaming activity on leading digital music services, radio airplay audience impressions based on monitored airplay and sales data, all compiled by Luminate.”
Here is a breakdown of Caesar’s newest additions to the Hot R&B Songs chart:
- “Always” feat. Summer Walker, at No. 16 to date
- “Let Me Go,” at No. 16 to date
- “Valentina,” at No. 17 to date
“Do You Like Me?,” the album’s proper first single, returns for its second week on the Hot R&B Songs chart at No. 24. It initially debuted the week beginning Feb. 11 at No. 25.
Of Never Enough, Caesar told Nadeska Alexis of Apple Music, “I want to make music that leads people somewhere as opposed to music that can pacify them or make them feel good. I want to make music that makes people want to change their life. Truly inspiring music.”
Days after releasing Never Enough, Caesar issued Never Enough (Bonus Version). The updated edition included the 15 original songs, as well as two new songs, including the Summer Walker-assisted “Always” and the Rick Ross-guested “Valentina (Remix).”
Caesar also included “Please Do Not Lean,” his first song release for Republic Records, on Never Enough (Bonus Version).
Tonight (April 19), Caesar continues his Almost Enough: The Intimate Sessions Tour with a stop in London at HERE at Outernet. The final date is April 22, with a show in Berlin, Germany, at Huxleys Neue Welt.
