Lendryx has returned with a new song, “Just My Turn,” produced by Dionso and Vianey OJ.
On the aching weeper, Lendryx wistfully reminisces about a romance that has seemingly advanced from its honeymoon phase but is already heading for terrible trouble.
He implores this person, detailing where his heart is and how he doesn’t want the time invested in them to be a waste. His biggest fear is that this romantic interest played him close, only for him to be a placeholder.
Part of this song, specifically how Lendryx goes into verse two, resembles Joe’s vocal performance on “All the Things (Your Man Won’t Do).”
Lendryx took to Instagram to share the inspiration behind his latest song.
“I’ve always wanted to create a record that blends my love for R&B with my experience serving in the military, but is still relatable to all. Many men & women in service agree that no combat scenario is scarier than losing the ones they love at home, so I hope this is able to express those feelings on their behalf,” Lendryx wrote.
“Just My Turn” is Lendryx follows his 2022 single “Regret.”
Regarding the latter track, Lendryx told Rated R&B, “I wrote out of frustration with people in my life who will soon regret how they did me wrong as my career continues to rise.”
Before dropping his one-off track last fall, Lendryx debuted his Loyalty EP in May 2022. Among the songs trending on Spotify are “Infinite” and “Don’t Come Running Back.”
