The collaboration you didn’t know you needed is here: Four Tet’s Kieran Hebden and guitar virtuoso William Tyler are releasing a two-track single together, and you can hear the lead track below. In direct contrast to the duo’s joyous press shot, it is called “Darkness, Darkness.” The 12″ single will arrive June 30 via Psychic Hotline; the B-side is called “No Services.”

Fresh from his unlikely set closing Coachella with Skrillex and Fred Again.., Hebden released a new Four Tet song called “Three Drums” in late April. Around the same time, Tyler released an album called Secret Stratosphere with the Impossible Truth. And not long afterwards, Hebden put out a collaborative album from Fred Again.. and Brian Eno.

Read about Hebden’s 2022 anthem “Looking at Your Pager,” released under his KH alias, in Pitchfork’s rundown of “The Best Electronic Music of 2022.”
