Fir the first time in five years, Horrendous have come out with a brand new song to assault your senses for a new album coming out this August. Titled “Ontological Mysterium,” it’s a ripper of a track that fuses modern death metal with old school sensibilities to create something truly devastating.
Speaking on the upcoming album and its title track, guitarist and vocalist Matthew Knox said it was all a “love letter” to the bands that came before them.
“The album is our love letter to the bombastic spirit of heavy metal from the ’80s and early ’90s.
“‘Ontological Mysterium’ is an allegorical tale of creation, the formation of organic life, and the inadvertently and ironically destructive fate of unbound growth and uncontrollable reproduction. It represents the wild voracity of youth and inevitable transition into the gradual decay of aging in its various forms, fulfilling the unbroken circle of a biological existence.”
Ontological Mysterium will release on August 18 via Seasons of Mist, though you can preorder your copy today.
