In the midst of his current legal situation, Sleepy Hollow directs the headlines to his new single, “Pain Talk” featuring Lil Tjay, which arrives with its video.
Over a steady drill beat from Great John, the Picture Perfect-directed clip centers the rappers at a funeral touching on topics from lost loves to early beginnings and success.
“Got a Perc’, I might pop it today / Said I’d stop but I’m stuck in my ways.” raps Hallow. “And I work like I’m tryna get a raise / She said, “If you loved me, then you would’ve stayed”,” he continues before Tjay follows suite.
“Soothe, soothe, see him there? / He get left up on the news / I got shot in my neck, that should of went left, no my lungs, still I’m standing, shit to prove,” the Jersey native raps in reference to last year’s shooting.
Last week, Sleepy Hallow and fellow drill rapper Sheff G were among the 32 individuals arrested in a Brooklyn drug bust. NYPD says the two alleged Crip members helped participate in a streak of violence against rival gang members across the borough that included 12 shootings and a murder, according to the 140-count indictment.
