Kevin Ross Shares New EP ‘Midnight Microdose, Vol. 1’

After months of anticipation, singer Kevin Ross has finally released Midnight Microdose, Vol. 1, through Art Society Music Group/EMPIRE. The project is the first installment of a three-part series that will be released throughout the year.

Midnight Microdose, Vol. 1 boasts two singles: “Show & Prove” and “Look My Way.” The latter is currently making waves, securing its spot at No. 12 on R&B radio this week. It’s also No. 11 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart at the time of publication.

There’s a moving ballad where Ross’ athletic vocals are front and center (“Don’t Pretend”), a shameless plug of himself (“Informercial”), and an Afrobeat-flavored ode to a woman’s hazel melanin (“Cocoa”).

Ross will release Vol. 2 of Midnight Microdose soon, then combine both volumes for his upcoming album of the same name.

In 2020, Ross made use of the bundle trick for his EP Audacity Vol. 1. A year later, Ross released his Drive 2 EP, which featured the widely popular tracks “Looking For Love” and “Sweet Release.”

“Looking For Love” reached No. 9 and “Sweet Release” peaked at No. 8 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart.

Ross collaborated with rappers WESTSIDE BOOGIE and Cozz in creating “Headhunters” for Creed III: The Soundtrack. Additionally, he was a co-writer for “Heavy Is The Heat” by Baby Rose, which was included in the same compilation.

More recently, Ross hopped on Kenyon Dixon’s “Slow Dancing (Remix).”

Ross is set to perform the next time on stage on Sept. 2 at the TBAAL Riverfront Jazz Festival in Dallas, Texas.
