Rising R&B artist NBDY has finally ended his two-year hiatus and released a new project called Take Control via Wolfchild Music.
The official Take Control EP cycle began with the title track, also a bass-heavy flex-fest. Here, NBDY moves between the Gourty Maxx-tailored production to detail his mission of finding pleasure and taking control of his long-distance lover’s body in the bedroom when he pulls up on a late night.
NBDY released “Feels,” produced by Eestbound, as the second offering from Take Control. He revealed to Rated R&B that he wrote the song after he signed his first record deal.
“My career was taking off but it felt like the beginning of the end for you and I. The pain I went through when I lost my grandma at the same time that my career started going up made me reclusive and made you resentful,” he shared.
In his song “Moves,” NBDY asserts that those who try to hinder his pursuit of greatness will not succeed. He breaks from addressing his haters to brooding to win an old flame on the Chris Brown-esque “Karma.”
NBDY seems destined to drive the theme of his EP in the lyrical detail. “Sailor Moon” seals the deal as he solicits to be in the driver’s seat to do all the work to feel his woman’s body cry.
“I hope fans listen to the project with an understanding that life is what you make of it. You are in control of the narrative, and you’re beneath no one. Make the best out of your life and don’t let anything (or anyone) stop you from pursuing your greatest dreams and desires,” NBDY exclusively tells Rated R&B when asked what he hopes takeaway away from Take Control.
Take Control is NBDY’s first collection of songs since releasing Tunnel Vision in 2021.
The EP, which contains eight tracks, was executive produced by Maxx and features notable songs like “Situationship” and “Another Luv Song.”
