Americana soul ambassador MAJOR. has returned with a new EP, The Hope of My Soul.
The six-track project includes the previously shared “Baby Will You Love Me.” This is the tune that offers proof positive that MAJOR. is consistent, soulful and natural in his pursuit to be a great romanticist of his time.
At this publishing, “Baby Will You Love Me” has peaked at No. 17 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart. It’s now No. 18.
“Hold My Hand” is a touching request to hold hands with a comforting individual who offers support during difficult times. “Joy In The Battle” is another great song that features banjo and handclaps, with MAJOR. singing against a cheerful choir.
MAJOR. dedicates more space to inspiration and gospel-influenced arrangements, particularly in the final song, “Heaven.”
The Hope of My Soul is the first collection of music from MAJOR. since 2018’s Ever More. Executive produced by Harmony Samuels, the album included the Billboard-charting single “Better With You In It” and “Love Me Ole.”
Standalone tracks such as “Doves Cry” and “Whole World in His Hands” were released throughout the years. He also dropped two spoken-word albums and secured his first-ever platinum award from the RIAA for his 2016 single “Why I Love You.”
MAJOR. will likely support The Hope of My Soul and his previous material at his upcoming appearances. On July 28, he is set to perform at the inaugural Harlem Festival of Culture at Randall’s Island Park in New York City.
Later this year, MAJOR. will play at the Austin City Limits Music Festival on Oct. 8 and Oct. 15 at Zilker Metropolitan Park in Austin, Texas.
