Grammy winner Ella Mai has added five new RIAA certifications to her stacked collection.
“Not Another Love Song,” the lead single from her sophomore album, Heart On My Sleeve, has sold more than one million equivalent units and is now certified platinum. It first went gold in June 2021.
Mai’s song “DFMU” has hit the gold mark, making it the second certified song from Heart On My Sleeve. The Mustard and J. Holt-produced track was simultaneously No. 1 on R&B radio and Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart last summer.
“Shot Clock” and “Whatchamacallit,” lifted from Mai’s self-titled 2018 album, have been upped in certification level.
The former track is now 2x multi-platinum, becoming the third most-certified song from Ella Mai. It follows behind the breakout hit “Boo’d Up” (7x multi-platinum) and “Trip” (5x multi-platinum).
“Whatchamacallit,” which features Chris Brown, advances to platinum status. Mai also gained a gold certification for “Anymore” from her 2017 EP, Ready.
Last year, Mai received four awards from RIAA, which included a double-platinum plaque for her song “Naked.”
Mai added three new tracks, including “This Is,” to her second album, Heart On My Sleeve, earlier this year.
The song is airing on urban and R&B radio and has reached No. 13 on Billboard’s Hot R&B Songs chart and R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay chart.
The original version of Heart On My Sleeve was released in May 2022 and was featured at No. 10 on Rated R&B’s 30 Best R&B Albums of 2022 list.
Last year, Mai went on tour with Mary J. Blige to promote their album, and this year she headlined her own tour.
Mai, who appears on Kiana Lede’s new album Grudges, is nominated for Best International Act at the 2023 BET Awards. The ceremony airs live on Sunday, June 25, at 8 p.m. ET.
