‘Are You Ready?’ ‘What If’ Creed is Actually Prepping a Comeback?

It’s been nearly 11 years since their last show and even longer since they last released a studio album, but Christian rock band and gym bro mainstay Creed could soon rise like Lazarus and reunite. At least that’s what everyone and their mother thinks after the band’s social media pages were updated the other day with a brand new logo.

It’d been more than a year since the band’s social media pages had been updated, so the sudden release of a new logo has understandably caused people to speculate what it all could mean. Sure, it could just been some bored social media manager updating the pages for no reason, but that’s generally not how these things go down. So our money’s on the band doing something in the very near future.

As has been previously mentioned, some band members have expressed at least a passing interest in getting back together. Earlier this year, for example, guitarist Mark Tremonti went on record to say he was “sure something will happen at some point.”

“There’s always talks — people running ideas back and forth — but we don’t know as of yet, ’cause we’re so in the deep with this Alter Bridge record that’s it’s tough to kind of get sidetracked right now.

“I’m sure something will happen at some point. Creed was such a popular band back in the day, it would be a shame to not do something with it. I know there’s still tons of fans out there that would appreciate it, so it’s just a matter of timing.”

Unlike other bands who have under no uncertain terms said they’d never get back together (only to inevitably get back together), Creed at least left the door slightly ajar. Couple that with the wave of nostalgia for early 2000s rock and you’ve got a potent reason for any band to get back together.

As Tremonti said in that interview, it’s all about timing. Especially since he and his former Creed bandmates drummer Scott Phillips and bassist Brian Marshall are in Alter Bridge, while vocalist Scott Stapp is off doing his solo shit.

So who knows? Only time will tell and when it inevitably happens, we’ll have the story for ya.
