IndiePulse sits down for an exclusive Interview with Hip Hop artist Creeze to talk Life, Music and his new Project “Trixx” Ft. Charlie Boy.

IndiePulse – What’s up Creeze? Let’s start by letting everyone know where you are from and where you reside now.

Creeze: I’m originally from Louisville, KY but I currently live Phoenix, AZ

IndiePulse – What inspired you to become a musical Artist?

Creeze: As a child I played the trumpet in grade school and that grew into production. I always had an ear for it, in class I would be in space thinking of drum patterns, etc instead of paying attention to my teacher. But Naude and Lucky 7, my childhood friends were actually the ones that broke me out of shell.

IndiePulse – Can you describe your creative process for writing new material?

Creeze: It can happen at any time but normally I take notes of the song and when the right track presents itself, I’ll write the hook and add verses later. When I got a beat, someone has sent and I’m feeling that shit, I’ll write the hook, verses and record that shit the same day. I’ve got a studio at the crib I like recording on the late-night hours don’t know why just do. Then I sent it over to my engineer to bring to life.

IndiePulse – How do you handle creative blocks?

Creeze: I might smoke, walk away give it a break and spend time with the family or with my boys to reset the process.

IndiePulse – • Who are some of your musical inspirations?

Creeze: Pretty much East Coast, West Coast, The South HipHop motivated me to be who I am today, I’m very grateful for the artist that came before me because I soaked up all that GAME. Lol No BS.

IndiePulse – What are your career goals for the next five to 10 years?

Creeze: Be a better version of myself, continue to drop great music and invest.

IndiePulse – How would you define success in your career?

Creeze: Staying true to myself and continue to open new avenues.

IndiePulse – What is the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your career?

Creeze: The haters telling you no, go around THEM!

IndiePulse – Can you share the story behind your latest album or project (TRIXX)

Creeze: Yea, so I was in the studio in LA and got a call from a childhood friend. “CREEZE”, I got something for you, I got this track you’re going to like bro. I’m like cool pimp send it over and let me check it out. When I heard the track, I’m like yea this shit banging and I knew exactly who I’m sending this too. I sent Charlie Boy’s manager the record we have worked on together in the past and rest was history, to sum it up.

IndiePulse – Who are the producers in this project?

Creeze: The homie J.I.G from Louisville, KY did the track

IndiePulse – What is your favorite song you’ve written or performed?

Creeze: “She Can Get It” performance probably

IndiePulse – How do you handle mistakes during a performance?

Creeze: Best thing to do is don’t stop keep performing, no one will know except your team.

IndiePulse – Do you get performance anxiety, and if so, how do you cope with it?

Creeze: It’s normal, I’m smoking lol, then I’m good. Once you go out there that shit goes away, GOD got me.

IndiePulse – Do you enjoy collaborating with other musicians, and what is that process like?

Creeze: I love collaborating with another artist. Me, getting a good vibe and energy going is the key.

IndiePulse – Who would you most like to collaborate with in the future?

Creeze: Honestly, whatever opportunity that comes my way, it’s all about who you know.

IndiePulse – How do you deal with negative feedback from fans or critics?

Creeze: Everyone isn’t going to like you or what you stand for and that’s ok. It’s just one of those things you can’t control and you shouldn’t lose sleep over. Appreciate the ones who do support you and FUCK the ones that don’t.

IndiePulse – What is the best advice you’ve received from another musician?

Creeze : Keep grinding never stop, I fuck with what you’re doing.
