On the heels of last week’s record-breaking Verzuz battle, Ashanti debuts the video for her new single “2:35 (I Want You).”
In the seductive clip, she pulls up to her man’s house at 2:35 a.m. with nothing but lingerie underneath her trench coat. She heads upstairs to the bedroom and undresses before making love to him under the moonlight. She then changes into a glittery bra and panties and puts on a show just for her man.
“‘Cause ooh, my body beggin’ for you / Ain’t no mistake, you the truth,” she coos. “Said I want you, I need you, I want you.”
Ashanti dropped “2:35” moments after Thursday’s Verzuz battle with Keyshia Cole, which set an Instagram record with over 6 million viewers. The song marks her first solo music since 2019.
