America’s Oldest Dance Troupe Cancels Performance at Kennedy Center

After severing ties with the Washington National Orchestra, the Kennedy Center has now also lost a performance by the country’s oldest dance troupe, the Martha Graham Dance Company.

The troupe had been scheduled to perform to the Kennedy Center in April 2026 as part of its centennial tour across the US. A reason was not given for the show’s cancelation, but the dance company said it hoped to perform at the center in the future.” Consequence has reached out to Kennedy Center representatives for more information.

Since Donald Trump’s takeover of the Kennedy Cente, more than 20 acts have canceled performances at the venue.
