Dropkick Murphys Reunite with Co-Vocalist Al Barr at Boston St. Patrick’s Day Show

Dropkick Murphys welcomed back their longtime co-vocalist Al Barr for their St. Patrick’s Day show at the House of Blues in Boston on Tuesday, March 17th. It marked the first time Barr performed with the band in more than four years

In late 2021, Barr stepped away from the band to focus on family matters. On Tuesday, he returned to perform “Worker’s Song,” “The Vultures Circle High,” and Dropkick’s version of the Gang Green song “Alcohol” alongside singer Ken Casey.

Barr also helped close out the show with the band’s signature anthem “I’m Shipping Up to Boston.”

The March 17th concert wrapped up a multi-show run in Boston, where Dropkick also played five gigs at the MGM Music Hall at Fenway Park. Among the MGM shows was a special family-friendly afternoon concert that helped raise $60,000 for Franciscan Children’s Hospital.
