Olivia Rodrigo Is “Obsessed” with Fontaines D.C., Covers “I Love You” in Dublin

Olivia Rodrigo’s ongoing world tour made a stop in Dublin, Ireland on Tuesday night, and to mark the occasion of playing in the hometown of Fontaines D.C., she covered the band’s 2022 song “I Love You.”

Playing the Skinty Fia cut in the latter half of her main set, Rodrigo began by celebrating Dublin for having “so many incredible bands.” She then told the crowd that she has been “obsessed” with Fontaines D.C. as of late, and has been playing “I Love You” alone in her room for fun.

Launching into the cover, Rodrigo carried the arrangement on guitar, with her band joining her midway through. Delivering the vocal line originally sung by Grian Chatten with her trademark croon, she fused her style with the brooding love song’s sound. Watch videos of the performance below.
