Outer Banks’ Jonathan Daviss to play Snoop Dogg in upcoming biopic

A biopic about the life and career of Snoop Dogg is in the works, with Jonathan Daviss set to portray the Doggfather himself.

Per Deadline, the story follows Snoop Dogg’s rise from his Long Beach, California origins to his status as a West Coast hip-hop phenom. The 25-year-old Daviss, who starred in Netflix’s Outer Banks as well as the 2022 filmDo Revenge, will play Snoop Dogg in the Universal Pictures project, with the rest of the cast still yet to be named.Hustle & Flow andDolemite Is My Name director Craig Brewer will helm the film, which will also serve as the first project under Death Row Pictures’ overall deal with NBCUniversal as the label continues its move into the film arena.
