It’s “Just an Everyday Thing” For Duane Hoover But We Think It’s Anything But

Duane Hoover’s latest single, “Just an Everyday Thing” could be his mantra, as it’s clear he’s not one to be stopped. He dropped his first full length album, ‘Wayward Path’, back in April, spawning countless singles, with yet another LP, ‘Magac Mirror Story Book’, coming out on the 17th October, through Lighthouse Records.

“Just an Everyday Thing” continues Hoover’s trend of honouring his 1960s British Invasion heroes, and draws influences from the usual crowd, The Kinks, The Stones, The Beatles, et al. Underneath all that however is a hint at what is to come – it’s got a groovy flavour to it that is reminiscent of T. Rex and the late great Marc Bolan – and funnily enough, that’s who’s inspired ‘Magac Mirror Story Book’.

Opening with clashing cymbals and drums, swaggering guitars, a little bit of wah wah, and a whole lot of rubber soul, Hoover sings of a woman who is enticing and intriguing, despite possibly being “slightly deranged”. Her demeanour and style come naturally, slightly off-kilter to the rest of society, but to her, it’s “just an everyday thing”. She takes everything in her stride, no matter what happens, effortlessly pulling people (like the song’s narrator) into her orbit. You want to meet her, you want to know her, you want to be her.

“Just an Everyday Thing” is out now, and you can listen to it below. The album ‘Wayward Path’ is out now, and can be streamed and downloaded at all the usual places, as well as Duane Hoover’s officialwebsite. Check out Duane Hoover and his music online onFacebook,Instagram, andYouTube.
