The story of ‘Go Ahead’ sees Lara picking up the pieces after a failed relationship, and being determined in future to find a man who will “take her hand and go ahead”. She’s not going to accept anything less than what she deserves – she’s running the show when it comes to her own life, and is encouraging listeners to do the same as her, and take control.
The music video for ‘Go Ahead’ was shot in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. The viewer is taken down down winding roads as Lara makes her way into the city, the feeling of motion and urgency being totally tangible. Lara’s entire ensemble denotes drama, transformation, and liberation – from her dark clothing right down to her dramatic makeup – the overcast weather adds further to this vibe.
Lara and her friends encounter a man with wandering eyes, but she knows he’s not good enough for her, and they leave him behind, with an air of triumph. She knows exactly who she is and what it’s going to take to impress her. Lara’s doing just fine.
