Watch CMAT perform rowdy cover of Catatonia classic ‘Road Rage’ at Green Man Festival 2025

The Irish singer-songwriter pulled a huge crowd to the Mountain Stage for her first performance at the bash in the Brecon Beacons.

Throughout her set, she performed the likes of ‘Jamie Oliver Petrol Station’, ‘Take A Sexy Picture Of Me’ and ‘I Wanna Be A Cowboy, Baby!’ before she declared: “CMAT stands for Cerys Matthews“, in honour of the former Catatonia frontwoman before draping herself in the Welsh flag. You can view footage below.

The song was huge hit and fan favourite for Catatonia in the 1990s peaking at Number Five in the official singles chart following its release in 1998.

It follows CMAT’s recent performance at Glastonbury 2025, which she recently admitted that she “didn’t sleep” in the run-up to her performance on the Pyramid Stage.

“It’s worth noting that the two days beforehand, I was acting like someone who was about to go into war,” she explained (viaEvening Standard). “I was shaking with the fear. I couldn’t talk to anyone, I didn’t sleep, like I was ill. I was so, so scared. I was so scared for the Pyramid Stage.

CMAT continued: “I kind of just kept throwing my head in my hands, and like screaming and being like, ‘Why did they let me do this?’

“And then by the time I walked on stage, the feeling, the first thought that occurred to me was, ‘Oh my God, I’m so relieved that this is about to be over, because I don’t have to be scared of it anymore’.”

In a glowing five-star review of her Glastonbury 2025 gig,NMEwrote: “CMAT captures the spirit of Glasto and sets the bar for the coming weekend – and her life, it seems.”NME also featured the slot as one of “the most unforgettable moments from Worthy Farm” this year.

Elsewhere, other acts who performed on the night at Green Man included Underworld, Perfume Genius and Gwenno.

The festival will wrap up tonight (August 17) with TV On The RadioandBeth Gibbons.
