Will the Landman Season 2 Finale Set Up Tommy’s Most Dangerous Comeback?

Will the Landman Season 2 Finale Set Up Tommy’s Most Dangerous Comeback?

Landman Season 2 Episode 9 felt like the show straight-up gave us the side-eye and said, “Comfortable? Bless your heart. I am here for the chaos, not the calm.”

Because nearly every character woke up that morning thinking they had some control over their life, and by the end of the hour, that illusion was absolutely gone.

The Landman Season 2 finale is coming, and I’m telling you right now, Tommy didn’t get fired just to go home and start grilling burgers in peace.

Landman Season 2 Episode 9 made that painfully clear.

Angela showed Paigyn exactly how power works by yanking Ainsley out of the dorm and tossing the cheerleading team into a hotel as if it were a corporate relocation package.

Thomas and Cheyenne finally stopped awkwardly orbiting each other and actually connected.

Rebecca and Charlie decided love was worth trying again, even with six months of long-distance looming thanks to Charlie heading to the offshore gas-drilling rig.

At the rig-hauling party, Blanton’s attorneys, McDougal and James, were celebrating like they’d personally drilled the gas themselves.

Meanwhile, Tommy spent the hour looking emotionally exhausted, and then Cami (Demi Moore) fired him for not being enthusiastic enough about M-Tex’s future.

As if that wasn’t enough, the episode ended with Cooper nearly beating Johnny into another dimension while rescuing Ariana from the Patch Cafe.

If this sounds like a calm setup for a quiet finale, we are clearly watching different shows.

With all this chaos simmering, the Landman Season 2 finale is hanging by a thread, and I can’t resist taking a wild guess at what’s coming down the pike.

Tommy’s Departure from M-Tex Could Shake Everything

Okay, TV Fanatics, I have to be honest: Landman Season 2 episode 10 has me biting my nails and simultaneously laughing at the chaos.

I mean, Thomas has been nagging Tommy like a broken record: “Focus on your family, stop living at M-Tex!” and finally, even Tommy is starting to realize he might not be needed anymore.

Honestly, I was like, “About time, buddy!” That’s why he’s been hustling to make sure Cooper has a solid spot in M-Tex.

And I get it; I respect the hustle. Even if Tommy walks out, at least his son has a paycheck to support Ariana and little Miguel. Smart man, honestly.

But then I watch Cooper nearly punch Johnny into next week while saving Ariana, and I’m over here yelling at the screen, “Oh no, Cooper! You’d better not end up in court!”

Because if Johnny has any connections, things could get ugly. And normally, Tommy could call in Nate and Rebecca for backup, but nope, doors slammed.

(Emerson Miller/Paramount+)

I feel like Cooper’s only hope is that Johnny eats humble pie and runs away with his tail between his legs.

And Cami… don’t get me started. Will she let Cooper stay at M-Tex if Billy Bob Thornton‘s Tommy is gone?

Or is she going to freak out and fire him just because she thinks he might sabotage her company? Frankly, I’m sweating just typing this.

And Ariana? Poor girl. I have no idea if Barney is going to let her stay at the Patch Cafe because no one wants extra drama.

The finale feels close enough to tap me on the shoulder, and something tells me Landman isn’t planning to play nice.

Tommy’s Firing Might Finally Knock Angela and Ainsley Down a Peg

Call me cruel if you want, but I’m rooting for Tommy’s firing if it means Angela and Ainsley finally learn that money doesn’t grow on trees.

Those two have been enjoying the perks of Tommy’s M-Tex paycheck while behaving like entitlement is a personality trait.

I’m choosing to believe the Paigyn subplot exists for a reason, and that reason is to make them face the music.

With Tommy out of the picture and his paycheck no longer endless, Angela and Ainsley are about to learn that excess has an expiration date.

Maybe, just maybe, being cut off will teach them to stop pointing fingers and start adjusting to reality.

(Paramount+/Screenshot)

Now here’s the part that has me thinking way too hard about it: how on earth does Tommy find his way back into M-Tex?

I see two roads: either the employees stage some kind of mutiny, which is about as likely as pigs learning to tap dance, or the offshore drilling project blows up in everyone’s face.

I’m talking literal disaster-level chaos.

I can see Nate and Dale stepping aside, given how long they’ve been at this, but Tommy isn’t the kind of guy who would sacrifice their security just to make a point.

So we’re down to one very satisfying option: Cami runs the rig into the ground and is forced to turn to Tommy, and I won’t pretend I don’t want to see that.

Offshore Chaos, Thomas & Cheyenne’s Rollercoaster on Landman Season 2

(Emerson Miller/Paramount+)

As much as I love drama, I don’t buy Charlie deliberately wrecking the rig for Tommy’s sake.

I think, risking his career and his on-again-off-again romance with Rebecca? That’s a hard no from me.

But the ocean has its own mind, and this rig is supposedly sitting in the hurricane’s VIP section. So basically, chaos is practically guaranteed.

And if Charlie and Rebecca can’t handle the mess, you better believe Tommy’s going to be the guy everyone runs to for rescue.

And then there’s Thomas and Cheyenne. Oh boy. Tommy’s firing isn’t just a hiccup; it’s more like a pothole in their weird little relationship.

(Paramount+/Emerson Miller)

Thomas was finally starting to get his mojo back, but now? He could slip right back into his old gloomy phase.

Or, and I’m secretly hoping this, maybe Cheyenne’s spark has actually boosted his morale enough that he becomes Tommy’s rock during all this madness.

We’ve barely seen Thomas shine, but if Tommy has to hit the reset button, his dad could be the dark horse nobody expected.

And hey, who’s to say Thomas and Tommy won’t team up and launch their own venture if both Gallino and Cami give Tommy the cold shoulder?

I live for this kind of beautiful mess. The ‘deal or no deal’ tension is practically screaming at me, and I wouldn’t miss a beat.

Gallino’s Moves Could Shake Up Landman Season 2

Now, let me spill the tea about Gallino because I’ve got a feeling things are about to get spicy.

The guy has been playing nice all season, but come on, we barely scratched the surface of his cartel-ish side.

Tommy has voiced his doubts about Gallino needing M-Tex like it’s his personal playground, and I’ve been nodding along with him the whole time.

If Gallino turns out to be a straight-up businessman with no shady tricks, then, well, what was all the hype for?

But what if things go sideways… which seems more likely than not: Gallino might drop the mask, and suddenly Cami will regret not listening to Tommy.

(Paramount+/Emerson Miller)

Or, and I love this possibility, Gallino could strong-arm Cami into calling off Tommy’s firing because he knows she’s the face of M-Tex, but Tommy’s the one actually getting stuff done.

Without Tommy, Gallino might hesitate to back M-Tex during this oil-rig madness.

And if Cami still refuses to budge, maybe Gallino sneaks Tommy into Angelus Investments so he can keep the offshore rig from turning into a literal dumpster fire.

Of course, all of this is me connecting dots and stirring the pot.

Some of these things might happen, some might not, and maybe the writers are just messing with us for fun.

But well, that’s why we love Landman, right? So tell me, what’s your bold prediction for Gallino and Tommy?

Drop it in the comments; I need to know if I’m the only one scheming like a caffeinated detective?
