Awwwww yeah: the consistently-excellent Cloud Rat have released a new track, “Mother Tongue ~ Glitter Belly,” via the consistently-excellent Adult Swim Singles program.
The results, unsurprisingly, are excellent.
The results are also sure to please Cloud Rat fans of all shapes and sizes: while a press release notes that the band has recently released “a spate of experimental noise and synth-driven material,” this new track is eight minutes long, about half of which is classic grindcore, and the other half of which is experimental drone music.
Says the band of “Mother Tongue ~ Glitter Belly”:
“The flow of the track, unintentionally, feels like it mirrors the past year and a half and all of the waves of emotions that we’ve all collectively gone through. Maybe that’s pretentious, but really there does feel like some kind of narrative is in there.”
