Julia Fox Denies Rumor That She Interviewed to Be Kanye West’s Girlfriend

Julia Fox’s relationship with Kanye West may be over, but she’s not done talking about her ex.

The Uncut Gems actress opens up about dating the most famous rapper in the world in a new interview. Speaking with The New York Times, Fox reveals that she and Ye had an amicable breakup and that they only spent about 15 days together, when factoring in work, family, and travel obligations.

“I tried my best to make it work,” she said. “I already had a jam-packed life. How do I fit this really big personality into this already full life? It just wasn’t sustainable. I lost like 15 pounds in that month.”

When asked if the relationship was real or a PR stunt, Fox responded, “I mean, there were definitely elements of it that were real.”

She also shut down a rumor that she interviewed to be Ye’s girlfriend, calling the suggestion “ridiculous.”

While they didn’t refer to each other as “boyfriend” and “girlfriend,” Fox said “it definitely felt like I was his girlfriend. But it also felt like I was being cast in the role of his girlfriend–and he was casting me. He was the orchestrator of it all. It really did feel like a movie.”

Ye recently came under fire from Kim Kardashian for exposing their private texts on social media. But Fox is not worried that Ye would do the same to her.

“I don’t think that he would want to open that door with me,” she said. “If you come for me, I’m going to come for you. And I’m really good at coming for people. I just go straight for the jugular. I don’t think he would be dumb enough to do that.”

As for her critics, Fox remains unbothered by the noise. “It’s not real,” she said. “It’s only happening on the internet. I’m not actively engaging with it. I don’t feel it. I’m still 1,000 percent me. Nothing’s changed, except, I will say, having been around Kanye was like a crash course on how to be famous.”

Julia and Ye first sparked romance rumors after meeting on New Year’s Eve in Miami. On Valentine’s Day, she announced that they had split, but remained “good friends and collaborators.”

Ye has moved on with model Chaney Jones. The two have been spotted together on numerous occasions, but are reportedly “just friends” for now. However, Jones recently called West “my love” in a comment on Instagram.
