For your average American metalhead, Jinjer are the band from the Ukraine. Which is why it’s unsurprising, if sad, to learn that the band are canceling their upcoming U.S. tour to focus on helping out with the crisis at home.
According to a breaking report by Loudwire, one venue, St. Louis’ The Factor, has revealed the cancelation on social media, with a post containing the following message:
“It is with great sadness that JINJER have been forced to cancel their upcoming US tour dates.
“As the band and their families reside in Kyiv, their focus is on the safety of their families and their country.
“We all hope for a quick and peaceful resolution.
“All refunds will be processed automatically within 30 days of cancelation.”
The Factory, for their part, added the following:
“In light of these events and to do our part in supporting the overwhelming humanitarian effort that is underway in Ukraine, #TheFactorySTL is making a donation of $5,000 to the United Hatzalah.”
At least it’s inspiring people to give.
What isn’t clear is whether or not the band will be canceling their upcoming dates as support for Slipknot on the first leg of the nine-junked Iowan sex fetus’ Knotfest Roadshow 2022 tour. That’d be a huge bummer, but everyone would understand. The Factory isn’t on that tour, but maybe this was one of their one-off dates with In This Moment.
