Turnover share “Wait Too Long” and “Mountains Made Of Clouds”’—watch

“Wait Too Long” evokes memories of a late-spring glade. A wispy, ever-present hum flits around the track like a bit of dandelion fluff. Every so often it catches a sunlight-colored synth, and the entire scene sparkles as the two drift together in unity.

Fittingly, the video — directed by Turnover, Blair Kemp and Kyle Lamb — is a collection of shots of the band existing in nature and relaxing in a cabin. Scenes of the members playing board games, eating dinner and exploring the wilderness are cut together to create a charming product.

In “Mountains Made Of Clouds,” Austin Getz’s vocals bend and meld with a psychedelic synth that it’s hard to tell where one element ends and the next begins. The track gently urges listeners to unfocus their eyes and let the track overtake them completely.

Vitor Jabour directed and produced the “Mountains Made Of Clouds” visualizer, which features visuals that slowly move across the screen. Flowers bloom into fractals and strange geometries spin in a reason-defying fashion.

Getz revealed the inspiration for both songs in a press release.

“‘Wait Too Long’ is about expectation from yourself and others about what life is supposed to be like,” he says. “Finding that balance of being motivated and inspired by what’s around you without it feeling like something pushing you down. I moved away from northern California this year. A town called Sebastopol was my home for about five years, and I changed a lot in my time out there. ‘Mountains Made Of Clouds’ is an ode to that time and place.”

Turnover’s tour kicks off in Sonoma, California. Get your tickets here.
