Inayah Releases New EP ‘Insecure’

Inayah has released her new EP Insecure via EMPIRE. It’s the follow-up to her 2021 EP Side A.

Insecure was preceded by “Always Something,” a relatable tune that arrived with a music video. The song, co-written by Dixson and Omari “G.O.” Massenburg, exceeds over 655,000 streams on Spotify.

The EP’s second single, “Most Girlz,” dropped on Aug. 19. “‘Most Girlz is a story about transparency about how we juggle our deepest insecurities without realizing that there’s someone in our life that will love us through it! Often, we’re so settled into our flaws that the love surrounding us goes unnoticed,” Inayah explained.

For fans who saw the creative and comedic Insecure trailer, the “Insecure Freestyle” that played in it appears as the opening number.

Third on the EP, “California Taxi,” sees Inayah blending her voice atop Oscar-nominated super producer Dixson’s ghost vocals for a dream-seeking love song.

Insecure features production by Troy Taylor, Dixson, Triangle Park, Kxhris, Nellz, Super Miles, and Happie, among others.

Insecure is an emotional rollercoaster of me attempting to sanely navigate my postpartum journey. The project healed me and I hope that it can touch and do the same for anyone listening,” explains Inayah.

Along with the new EP, Inayah rolls out the official video for “Truth Is.”

In 2019, Inayah made her official introduction with her debut album S.O.L.A.R. The 12-song LP featured the fan-favorite “Best Thing,” certified gold in October 2021, with more than 500,000 equivalent units sold.
