SZA has revealed the tracklist for her sophomore album, SOS., which releases Dec. 9 on Top Dawg Entertainment/RCA Records.
Loaded with 23 tracks, S.O.S. will include the previously shared songs “Good Days,” “I Hate U” and “Shirt.”
It will also feature “Blind,” which she performed on Saturday Night Live, along with “Shirt.”
SOS will include features from Don Toliver, Phoebe Bridgers, Travis Scott and Ol’ Dirty Bastard.
“Good Days” was released on Christmas Day in 2020. It entered the top 10 on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart during the week of Jan. 23, 2021.
It eventually peaked at No. 9 on that chart. Elsewhere, it peaked at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Streaming Songs chart. The Grammy-nominated song remained in the top spot for five weeks and spent 43 weeks.
On Dec. 3, 2021, SZA officially released “I Hate U” after posting it on SoundCloud that August.
SZA made Apple Music history with “I Hate U,” as it became the most-streamed R&B song by a female artist in the first week.
It also topped multiple Apple Music charts, which prompted SZA to hop on social media to thank her fans. “Y’all really took a song from SoundCloud and made it number one for 7 days straight. No promo no radio . no nada. Jus YALLS LOVE. I AM SO BEYOND THANKFUL TO HAVE YOU ALL IN MY LIFE,” SZA wrote on Instagram.
“I Hate U” reached No. 1 at urban radio in March 2022.
On Oct. 28, 2022, SZA returned with her latest single “Shirt.” The Rodney Jerkins-produced track was accompanied by a video directed by Dave Meyers.
SOS is the follow-up to SZA’s debut album, Ctrl. SZA celebrated the album’s fifth anniversary in June by releasing Ctrl (Deluxe), which included all the original songs plus seven unreleased tracks that were recorded during that era.
Ctrl debuted at No. 1 on Billboard’s R&B Albums and No. 3 on the Billboard 200 charts.
The album was certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) four months after its release. In July 2020, the Grammy-nominated album was upgraded to 2x multi-platinum.
