R&B newcomer Casper Sage has released his new single “Is This Real Life?”
Over mellow instrumentation, produced by Sage, he explores the surreal feeling of falling in love for the first time.
“I seen your face with them rose tint cheeks got me feelin’ all nice / And what you been on, you been on, really got me feeling alright / And I still got your toothbrush you can prolly spend another night / Wake up pinchin’ myself like ‘is this real life?’” Sage sings
About his new single, Sage tells Rated R&B, “’Is This Real Life?’ is my take on young love. On a first true love. It’s playful, weird, warm, and unexpected. I tried to make the song feel like a dream you never wanna wake up from.”
“Is This Real Life?” is the follow-up to “Rodeo Clown,” a cover of Dijon‘s song that Sage released in November.
“Dijon’s Absolutely has been in constant rotation throughout the year and has helped me to feel some things I didn’t really have the words to explain on my own. But ultimately, everyone has had a point where they felt someone was missing out on their love, right?” said Sage.
Earlier this spring, the alternative R&B singer independently released his self-titled project. It was the follow-up to his 2019 project, Winter.
Sage is gearing up to release more new music in 2023.
