Metallica Will Release “If Darkness Had A Son” Tomorrow

Remember yesterday how Metallica posted that duet thing on TikTok and we all were like “oh man, maybe we’re getting a new song soon?” Turns out that intuition was true, as the band posted a new video on their page earlier today continuing the duet, only this time finally adding Kirk Hammett into the mix. Accompanying the post was a short statement saying the song “If Darkness Had A Son” would come out tomorrow, March 1.

We’re a little more than a month away from the release of Metallica’s next album 72 Seasons and it’s been a little silent from the band for a bit. We got “Screaming Suicide” back on January 19 and since then, there’s been nothing new, so it’s about time.

Now that we’ve got the full band playing in the video, you can hear what sounds like the intro to the song. At least that’s what it sounds like. The real shame is that it cuts off where it does, since I get the feeling we were about to be hit with something heavy there.

Oh well, tomorrow can’t come fast enough.
