NOBY Signs to Motown Records, Shares New Song ‘It’s Never That Deep’

Rising singer NOBY has landed a new record deal with Motown Records. The Alabama native joins the roster that includes Brandy, Ne-Yo, Sean “Diddy” Combs, Kem and more.

Of the new deal, NOBY tells Rated R&B, “Motown, as we know, is an illustrious record label filled with talents that made history. I’m so honored to be a part of that. I can’t wait to do the same with my music.”

Along with the signing news, NOBY has shared a new song, “It’s Never That Deep,” which he self-produced. Over a prowling trap-styled production, NOBY sings to persuade an ex to come clean about who she slept with behind his back.

Speaking of the new single, NOBY says, “‘It’s Never That Deep’ speaks to the contradiction of having high expectations for a lover without being able to fully commit. It encapsulates the realities of an unbalanced love affair that is never fully reciprocated.”

NOBY is no stranger to music. While “It’s Never That Deep” is his debut single for Motown Records, he’s released music since 2018. In 2019, he released two projects, Deep Blue and Space Bandit, Vol. I: Liftoff, a collaborative release with rapper Qu1$.

NOBY’s career took shape after working with Yung Bleu on the song “Come By At 12” and touring alongside him.

Back in 2021, NOBY shared a song called “Cold.”
