Check Out Footage of Empire State Bastard’s First Live Show

It wasn’t long ago that Empire State Bastard, the brainchild of Biffy Clyro’s Simon Nell and Mike Vennart, simply sounded like a pretty interesting avant-garde grindcore-esque band looking to make its way in the world. However, in the span of a couple weeks, they’ve signed with Roadrunner Records, recruited ex-Slayer and current Testament/Mr. Bungle drummer Dave Lombardo, and put out their first single.

Yesterday the band checked off another item on their list, getting their first live show as a unit under their belt. And thanks to a fan that attended the gig at Glasgow’s Cathouse, we can all now live vicariously through their camera lens and check out Empire State Bastard’s live show.

As you can probably tell from the footage below, Empire State Bastard puts on a good show. The songs are heavy and frenetic. And thanks to Lombardo’s drumming and Bitch Falcon’s Naomi Macleod on bass, the show’s got one hell of a rhythm section.
