Antrhax’s Scott Ian Covers Classic Songs with Family

Anthrax guitarist Scott Ian made us emotional when he was joined on stage by his wife and son to perform songs by Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin.

His set also featured guitarist Zach Throne and bass player Joey Vera and took place on March 28 at “Ultimate Jam Night” at the Whisky A Go Go in West Hollywood, California. The event was a fundraiser for Animal Tracks, a California sanctuary for endangered animals.

Ian’s wife, Pearl Aday, and 11-year-old son Revel joined him to play Black Sabbath’s “Symptom of the Universe” and Led Zeppelin’s “Whole Lotta Love.”

His family are no strangers to music outside of Ian’s pursuits. Aday is Meat Loaf’s daughter and an experienced vocalist, and Revel is known as an accomplished, up-and-coming drummer.

Ian wrote on Instagram:

“Family Band!!! Getting to jam Symptom of the Universe with Pearl and Revel was KILLER!!! And my chosen family—Zach and Joey, crushing!”

The benefit also featured Metallica bass player Robert Trujillo and members of Jinjer, Alice Cooper, P.O.D., Ministry, Whitesnake, Candlebox, Bad Wolves, Dirty Honey, Armored Saint, King’s X, Joyous Wolf and more. Comedian and VH1 personality Hal Sparks was the host.

After some of the heavier news this week, this feel-good collaboration was exactly what we needed.
