Fires In The Distance Further Their Sound with Air Not Meant for Us

Fires In The Distance dropped their second album, Air Not Meant For Us, last week via Prosthetic Records.

The album takes the band’s sound even further, tying in more melody, crushing heaviness, and themes of depression and existential conflict.

About the album, Yegor Savonin (composition, guitars, programming, lyrics) says:

“Bringing this album to life has been a lengthy, arduous, and incredibly fulfilling process. With the warm reception Echoes From Deep November received, the pressure of surpassing that effort has always remained, even through to the last day of recording. As a collective, we strongly feel that we were able to achieve just that with Air Not Meant For Us.

“We’re grateful for everyone who has had a hand in making this album what it is, namely Dave Kaminsky (production), Randy Slaugh (orchestration), and James Tomedi of Burial in the Sky for the guest appearance. And, of course, a huge thank you to Jayson Cessna of Astralborne for his amazing videography and being a great friend. We hope you all enjoy this album as much as we enjoyed making it and we look forward to seeing you on the road this summer and autumn!”

The album also features a guest appearance from Burial in the Sky guitarist James Tomedi on instrumental track Adrift, Beneath the Listless Waves, and it’s the first time the band have recorded with their new drummer, Jordan Rippe.
