Queen Naija’s ‘Pack Lite’ Goes Platinum

Queen Naija has been presented with her second RIAA award this year. Her 2020 track “Pack Lite” is now certified platinum by achieving one million equivalent sales.

The latest platinum-seller is Naija’s fourth song release since she began collecting RIAA awards in April 2019 to hit platinum status or better.

Here are Naija’s four multi-platinum and platinum titles:

  • “Medicine,” 2x multi-platinum (2 million copies sold)
  • Karma,” platinum (1 million copies sold)
  • “Butterflies,” platinum (1 million copies sold)
  • “Pack Lite,” platinum (1 million copies sold)

“Pack Lite” is Naija’s third certified release from her 2020 debut album, Missunderstood. She extended her gold membership with the Lil Durk-assisted “Lie To Me” and “Butterflies Pt. 2.”

The latter of the two went No. 1 on Billboard’s Adult R&B Airplay chart and R&B radio (then known as urban adult contemporary radio).

Earlier this year, Naija took home a gold plaque for participating in Fivio Foreign’s 2022 track “What’s My Name” alongside Coi Leray.

Moving back to “Pack Lite.” The song received two visuals: one directed by Teyana Taylor and an alternative edit.

Naija recently released a new single titled “Words of Affirmation.” She co-wrote the track with frequent collaborator Mike Woods (Eric Bellinger, Kiana Ledé), who also was behind her earlier 2023 single, “Let’s Talk About It,” and “Hate Our Love,” featuring Big Sean.

“Hate Our Love” notched Naija’s fourth consecutive No. 1 on the Adult R&B Airplay chart last fall. Amid the celebration, the song also reached the gold level with over 500,000 single sales.

Naija then was performing nationwide on Mary J. Blige’s Good Morning Gorgeous Tour. She supported her new music and tunes from the deluxe version of Missunderstood.

Naija is playing two shows as part of the North 2 Shore Festival. Show one is June 10 at Boardwalk Hall Arena in Atlantic City, New Jersey, while the other is June 23 at Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey. Tickets are available at blackpromoterscollective.com.
