Rising singer Jastin Martin is keeping her name in conversation with the release of “Why Not?” her fourth song of the year.
With a mix of nature sounds, glimmering guitar strums and melodic vocals, Martin sings about wanting to steal away in either love or lust with her particular interest. She just hopes this tender rush doesn’t stop fluttering inside without them acting out their deepest desires.
“I don’t wanna have to say it / I don’t wanna have to say I gotta have it / I don’t wanna ask, I want it automatic / Been a minute since you had it / Lets start making it a habit / Swear you made me a fanatic / Lets start taking full advantage,” Martin sings.
Martin issued a vivacious video to go along with “Why Not?”
“Why Not?” is the follow-up to Martin’s early 2023 single, “Right My Wrongs,” released in March. Earlier this month, she dropped an acoustic take of the latter track in audio and performance mode.
Both songs will appear on Martin’s forthcoming album, which will be announced in the coming weeks. It’s not clear if Martin’s other songs “Growing Pains” and “Hurt Before” will appear on the impending collection of songs. Both were released this year.
As Martin continues to make headlines and perfect her untitled record, she looks to continue showing up authentically in her music. “My writing is so detailed that I wouldn’t have to tell anyone a song is about them – they would know it,” says Martin.
In 2022, Martin released an EP titled MINE.
