The Weeknd “Like A God” / “False Idols” Ft. Lil Baby

Your idol, the Weeknd title.

In anticipation of the fifth episode The Idol, The Weeknd continues his weekly run of music with two new tracks including “Like A God” and “False Idols” featuring Lil Baby and Suzanna Son.

On the soundtrack’s opening number, “Like A God” is based on a lost man and woman, inspired by the drama show’s main character Jocelyn (Lily Rose-Depp and Tedros (The Weeknd).

“Mama knows, baby girl gon’ be famous / Mama died after fallen dreams / Suicide, make her tabloid queen,” he sings. “Baby boy, still in petty crimes / Twenty-five, he was serving time / He would dream of the City of Angels / He was born to entertain us, ‘tain us, ‘tain us.”

“False Idols” finds The Weeknd and Lil Baby weighs on the ugly side of fame and fortune.

“Be careful who you call God / L.A filled with fake prophecies / They hate it when you get on top / Magazines tarnish legacies,” sings The Weeknd while Lil Baby delivers a hot opening verse. “Be careful with who you call a God / I can’t go without my pole and my rod,” raps Lil Baby. “Sip the cup and then I nod / Made a hundred million, must be good at my job.”
