Water from Your Eyes Announce New Covers EP, Take on Chumbawamba’s “The Good Ship Lifestyle”: Stream

Water from Your Eyes are set to release an EP of cover tracks this Friday, July 12th. In advance, they’ve teased the four-song collection, titled MP3 Player 1, with their cover of Chumbawamba’s “The Good Ship Lifestyle.” Stream it below.

With vigorous piano and frenetic drums, the duo’s cover of “The Good Ship Lifestyle” is a strong showcase of the 2023 CoSign alums’ signature style. MP3 Player 1 will be rounded out by covers of beloved songs from Adele, Al Green, and Third Eye Blind.

“Chumbawamba is an obvious favorite of ours, but it is between Adele in the style of The Cure and Al Green as the most left field covers we could have chosen,” the pair says of the project. “We think it’s funny and good, but ultimately that will be left to the listeners to decide for themselves.”

Water from Your Eyes are no strangers to thoughtful covers. In January, they took on Ween’s “If You Could Save Yourself (You’d Save Us All)” for Sounds of Saving’s “Songs That Found Me at The Right Time” series.
