From Edmonton to Vancouver, Chazzy Boo has built a multidisciplinary creative career by refusing to limit himself to a single lane. Since relocating to Vancouver, British Columbia, in February 2021, Chazzy Boo has steadily expanded his presence across the city’s entertainment landscape. What began as an effort to further establish himself in music eventually developed into a broader creative career shaped by opportunity, adaptability, and a willingness to turn personal interests into professional ventures.
From Edmonton to Vancouver
Chazzy Boo’s move from Edmonton to Vancouver marked the beginning of a major chapter in his career.
Initially focused on extending his imprint within the music industry, he quickly discovered that Vancouver offered opportunities across multiple creative fields. At the same time, adjusting to the city’s cost of living forced him to think differently about how his skills and interests could support his ambitions.
Side hustles gradually became a full-time career.
He began in East Vancouver, just outside downtown, where he developed an appreciation for the city’s creative energy and the possibilities surrounding its entertainment scene. As his network expanded and he established himself professionally, he eventually relocated downtown.
Part of that journey included freelance work connected to Compound Recording Studio, a facility notable for working with high-profile artists including Tory Lanez, Houdini, Pressa, Armani, Killy, Riff Raff, Northside Benji, and Pressa.
His experience later expanded through operations work with Canada Goose and the continued development of his visual portfolio. Those experiences helped Chazzy Boo transform his creative abilities into a sustainable professional career.
Inspired by the SoundCloud Era
The SoundCloud era remains one of the biggest influences on Chazzy Boo’s artistic outlook.
He remembers a period defined by groundbreaking creativity, boundary-pushing artists, and musicians who appeared to be setting new standards in real time. For him, the appeal was not simply the music itself but the emotional connection listeners could experience while watching artists grow.
There was a sense that audiences were witnessing breakthroughs as they happened.
Chazzy Boo believes that era demonstrated the impact of raw talent and genuine expression. Whether artists were expressing joy, struggle, pain, love, or happiness, the emotion could be felt directly through their music.
While he recognizes that artists continue to achieve significant success today, he believes something about that particular period felt different.
He hopes another creative emergence with a similar level of energy can eventually develop.
Vancouver’s Creative Potential
Chazzy Boo sees enormous potential across Vancouver’s music, fashion, and film industries.
The city is home to an expanding community of creatives who are actively pursuing opportunities, whether they are making music, designing clothing, creating visual content, or working behind the scenes.
For Chazzy Boo, the talent is already present.
What Vancouver needs, in his view, is more infrastructure and more platforms capable of supporting that talent. With the right development, he believes Vancouver has the potential to become one of North America’s major creative hubs.
Conversations with industry professionals in Los Angeles, Miami, and Toronto have reinforced his optimism. According to Chazzy Boo, professionals outside Vancouver are increasingly paying attention to what is developing within the city.
That makes being part of Vancouver’s current creative movement particularly exciting for him.
Breaking Through From Western Canada
Despite Vancouver’s growing creative community, Chazzy Boo believes Western Canadian artists still face challenges when it comes to achieving major national and international recognition.
He points to artists including Michael Bublé, bbno$, Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Merkules, and Snak The Ripper as examples of talent emerging from Vancouver and the surrounding scene. However, he believes the city has yet to experience the kind of global breakthrough associated with artists such as The Weeknd or Drake.
Vancouver’s high cost of living presents another challenge.
The movement of people into and away from the city can make it difficult for newcomers to establish relationships and find their place within creative communities. Without the right circle, the environment can become competitive and unforgiving.
Chazzy Boo has found a professional home where collaboration is central to the mission.
Building With Foreign Familia Records
His connection with Foreign Familia Records has become an important part of his current creative journey.
The studio and label, which has been operating since 2017, recently expanded into a new space in Gastown. The facility provides 5,500 square feet of multi-studio space, including an infinity wall and immersive visual arts area designed to help artists create sets and elevate their brands.
For Chazzy Boo and the team, the facility represents more than a workspace.
It is part of a broader effort to strengthen Vancouver’s creative and entertainment infrastructure by giving artists access to spaces and resources that can help them develop professionally.
Why VIBE SERIES Was Created
Chazzy Boo understands that a creative ecosystem requires more than artists.
Local venues, independent promoters, DJs, producers, photographers, filmmakers, and other creatives all contribute to keeping a music community alive.
The post-pandemic period created significant challenges for local venues, particularly as they dealt with declining sales and changing audience behavior. At the same time, Chazzy Boo has noticed growing interest in DJing, music production, and becoming a recording artist.
New technology has also made it easier for people to begin learning and developing their own creative skills.
More promoters have entered the scene, creating new opportunities, but Chazzy Boo believes Vancouver still needs more people working together to expand its reach.
That philosophy directly influenced the creation of VIBE SERIES.
The platform brings together members of the creative community and creates opportunities for people to connect, collaborate, perform, and build relationships.
For Chazzy Boo, authenticity remains essential. A strong brand can attract attention, but genuine impact is what creates lasting relationships within a community.

He wants to help artists working behind cameras, behind decks, on stages, and inside recording studios find opportunities to contribute.
