Flair drops new song ‘Ritual’, and it’s a Hypnotic Pop Journey Worth Getting Lost In – First Listen (Single Premieres) – Jammerzine

Flair have today dropped their new single titled ‘Ritual’, rom their upcoming second studio EP ‘For Lack of a Better Word’, which arrives July 10th 2026 via Revo Pro.

Flair’s ‘Ritual’ opens with a sense of quiet intention, drawing the listener into a soundscape that feels both personal and expansive. The band takes its time establishing mood, letting each element settle before moving forward, which creates a feeling of anticipation that pays off as the track unfolds. It is immediately clear that this is not a song built for quick impact but for lasting impression.

The instrumentation is carefully layered, balancing sleek electronic touches with a warm melodic core. Nothing feels overcrowded, and every sound seems placed with purpose. As the arrangement builds, it does so with patience, allowing subtle shifts in texture to carry the momentum rather than relying on abrupt changes. This approach gives the track a smooth, almost hypnotic flow that keeps the listener engaged from start to finish.

Vocally, ‘Ritual’ finds strength in control rather than excess. The performance carries an understated intensity that fits perfectly with the song’s tone, never overpowering the production but instead weaving seamlessly through it. That restraint adds depth, making the emotional undercurrent feel genuine rather than exaggerated. When the chorus arrives, it lands with a quiet confidence that lingers long after it passes.

What truly sets ‘Ritual’ apart is its ability to create a mood that sticks. The song feels reflective without becoming distant, and immersive without losing clarity. Flair manages to turn repetition into something meaningful, building a track that invites repeated listens without losing its impact. It leaves behind a subtle but lasting impression, the kind that stays with you long after the final note fades.

About Flair

The band initially formed in 2019, and after years of relentless gigging and studio time shaping the bands identity, their vision fully crystallised in 2023 following the release of their debut EP and breakout track ‘Run Away’. Momentum quickly followed, culminating in a shortlist spot at the 2025 Scottish Live Music Awards for ‘Best Live Artist’ and national and international radio play soon followed, also garnering early praise from the likes of Glasgow Times, The Scotsman and Belfast Telegraph. The band have gone on to share the stage with both Pentire and Arkayla and have been awarded slots at renowned festivals such as Belladrum Tartan Heart.

Their music continues to channel the pulse of Glasgow, a city that remains both their creative backbone and driving force. Instead of drifting from their origins, Flair turn their roots into rocket fuel – buckfast in music form. Drenched in reverb and driven by razor-sharp hooks, they blend the melodic sweep of Wunderhorse and The War On Drugs with the bite of Fontaines D.C., carving out a sound that’s unmistakably theirs.

Their latest single ‘Ritual’ blends narratives of poverty, paranoia, and the roulette of drug consumption. With the haunting presence of drug-induced voices multiplying their dark message, Flair delivers a track that is as confrontational as it is immersive, as ever with the backdrop of Glasgow City as their muse.

Discussing the track’s lyrical inspirations, vocalist and lyricist Tony Collum says “Ritual is a hate letter to addiction, and to the ritual of crack dependency. This track was originally our second ever single release. With high hopes as it really was our first attempt at deep, meaningful lyrics that portrayed who we are as a band. As the song has grown and developed, we felt strongly that we should match its growth with a fresh new recording and breathe new life into a song that gets our strongest crowd reaction. We felt Ritual demonstrated the darker, grittier side of our sound, and the perfect compliment to Nausea, reminding you that it’s always darkest before the dawn.”
