Here’s a handful of 2000s metalcore bands that absolutely should’ve been bigger.
You need these breakdowns in your life.

Hailing from Daytona Beach, Florida, The Autumn Offering formed in 1999 while their members were still in high school. After several years of DIY touring, they caught the eye of Hatebreed’s Jamey Jasta and signed to his label, Stillborn Records, releasing their debut albumRevelations of the Unsungin 2004.
But it wasn’t until they jumped to Victory Records that The Autumn Offering truly began to hit their stride. Their next two albums, 2006’sEmbrace the Gutterand 2007’sFear Will Cast No Shadow, are two sterling examples of 2000s metalcore, full of steely riffs, Gothenburg-inspired guitar leads and anthemic hardcore vocals.
Two more albums — 2009’sRequiemand 2010’sThe Autumn Offering— followed before the group disbanded.
Although The Autumn Offeringbarely grazed the charts during their time together, their brawny, shred-heavy metalcore packs the same punch as more famous contemporaries in As I Lay Dying and Killswitch Engage.
