Because there is absolutely nothing worth celebrating this Labor Day weekend, why not at least make a little bit of noise to drown out the sound of the festivities that really shouldn’t be happening while making those fest? Rigor Morrissey reporting for duty.
We can sit here until the cows come home, arguing with Dave Mustcomplain and his alike patriots about everything wrong with this godforsaken country in the first place, we can also just have a more enjoyable time, listening to some noisy new tunes, and maybe drowning them out in the process.
Double kicks and blast beats drown out the sound of fireworks, screams blur out the cackling from neighborhood barbecues, and bass so loud it will reverberate well into your neighbors’ celebrations.
So, crack open a cold one (or roll one up, I won’t judge your style), and enjoy the noisy madness this music entails.
156/Silence –From A Distance

I almost wish there was a way for you to be able to hang vinyl in the window so you can scare the shit out of people both visually and sonically at the same time. Let people see what is giving them their fright of their holy live, bask in the sheer unsettling feels that washes over when you look at the mask in this album artwork. We all know metal is Satan’s music, I mean, from where I’m sitting I hear a good bit of good metal, so why shouldn’t your neighbors hear a glimpse of their future now?
Pick it up from their label here.
Chat Pile –Who Loves The Sun

This deceptively sweet colored vinyl packs a (not so) surprising punch behind it. Those familiar with Chat Pile will no need further selling on this being a record worth blaring at destructively loud volumes. Certainly loud enough to drown out the incessant knocking on your door from your neighbors, telling you to pipe the fuck down, and honestly, you don’t even need to tell your neighbors ‘fuck you.’ Playing this loud enough will drive your point home.
A Night In Texas –The Darkest Side Of Humanity

Echoing nearly the exact same sentiment as the above: no need to give the bird yourself when you can convey it passive aggressively. Appropriately titled The Darkest Side Of Humanity, this LP needs further introduction as a righteous choice for this upcoming weekend. While it is a time to be celebrating the ‘people’s‘ achievements economically through their labor, do our corporate overlords really seem to give us the same luxuries we give them? So, fuck the bootlickers. Take it from the dead guy: they all end up down here anyway.
Spirit Mother –Thistle

Last, but certainly not least, and honestly –just get all four to play as loud as your sound system can handle to really make an enjoyable evening for yourself –and absolutely no one else around you. Gristling, grinding, screeching, driving, pummeling, there’s nothing this list of releases don’t do, and Spirit Mother‘s newest isn’t any different. A glorious record to finish off your glorious Labor Day weekend line-up, we would say there would be a noise complaint, but think about what weekend it is. Drunk college kids will far outweigh cops. Happy listening.
