Evergrey and Guitarist Henrik Danhage Part Ways

Earlier today, Swedish progressive power metal outfit Evergrey announced via social media that guitarist Henrik Danhage was no longer a member of the band. The news came after the two parties worked together for more than two decades.

According to the band’s statement, the split was a mutual and amicable one that stemmed from both parties looking to move on to the next stage of their respective careers.

“Evergrey and Henrik have mutually decided to part ways after working together on and off for 21 years. It is now time for a new chapter for both parties. We wish each other all the best for the future and look forward to new music from both Evergrey and Henrik. Stay tuned.”

Earlier this year, Danhage revealed that he was stepping back from the band’s touring duties, with the band opting to recruit Scar Symmetry’s Stephen Platt to fill-in for last year’s run with Katatonia. Now with Danhage out of the band, Evergrey can continue working on the marketing push for their album Architects Of A New Weave.

Speaking of that new record, Architects Of A New Weave will be released on June 5 via Napalm Records, but you can preorder your copy today.
