EXCLUSIVE: In the wake of scoring a spot on the Venice Film Festival lineup, the Robert Pattinson starring and produced Primetime will debut in theaters nationwide on Sept. 25.
The movie from documentary filmmaker Lance Oppenheim follows Chris Hansen in 2006 as he sets to make TV history with To Catch a Predator. Pattinson plays the NBC Dateline correspondent who made a name for himself catching suspected child predators with the help of law enforcement and a team of decoys pretending to be minors online. Primetime is written by Ajon Singh. Pattinson produced alongside BrightonMcCloskey through their company Icki Eneo Arlo. Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, Fred Berger, Lars Knudsen and TylerCampellone also produce.
Merritt Wever, Skyler Gisondo, and Phoebe Bridgers also star.
In addition to Primetime, the other pics going wide on Sept. 25 include Paramount’s Heart of the Beast starring Brad Pitt and directed by David Ayer, Disney/Marvel Studio’s Avengers: Endgame Encore, DreamWorks Animation’s Forgotten Island, Bleecker Street’s horror title Victorian Psycho, and Roadside Attractions’ horror movie Crawlers.
