Illumination/Nintendo/Universal‘s The Super Mario Galaxy Movie will premiere on Peacock on July 30, in what is a 120-day theatrical window to streaming.
The second installment ofThe Super Mariofranchise is the only movie to hit $1 billion at the global box office in 2026 so far and the 61st movie ever to hit that threshold. The pic stars franchise veterans Chris Pratt, Anya Taylor-Joy, Charlie Day, Jack Black and Keegan-Michael Key, as well as new cast membersBrie Larson, Donald Glover, Glen Powell and Benny Safdie.
Super Mario Galaxy Movie reps the best opening for a Hollywood movie YTD with a global start of $372.5M and has catapulted the entire Nintendo big-screen franchise past the $2 billion mark. The Super Mario Bros Movie (2023) is the No. 5 animated film of all time with $1.36 billion worldwide.
