As the alias of Italian producer, engineer, musician and artist Giacomo Alloesio, Coffeeshop has built up an international audience through regular musical releases that delicately balance melodic electronic production with clean, accessible pop songwriting. New single, ‘Salt Air’ sees him add yet one more track to this collection, getting us through the last few summery days of the year.
‘Salt Air’ sees Coffeeshop catches hold of the freedom and friendship of youth, and the experience of leaving the city behind for a summer’s day at the beach. The feeling of reaching one’s destination, breathing in the salt air, brings on a calming attitude, and you automatically lean into the slower pace all around you.
A natural companion to Coffeeshop’s previous single, ‘California Summer Dream‘, ‘Salt Air’ pulls details from what seems like a shared summer memory, of cars filled with happy passengers, and later walking along the boardwalk, taking in the views, everyone lost in the moment. With no particular place to be, the drive becomes the most important part of the adventure, and the comradery of one’s company is all you need to keep the day going just that little bit longer.
Once again, Eli Lev of Lev Studio has crafted a delicious animated music video, extending the ideas of the song through scenes that focus on friends, the beach, and the freedom of driving along the coast. Instead of over-complicating the message of the song, he instead centres the visuals on matching the sense of escape that is already present in the song, making it an anthem that will surely stand the test of time for countless summers ahead.
