Summer isn’t over just yet – Eddie Witz & The Most High are gearing up to join forces with reggae royalty for the release of ‘Mi Isla’ on November 13th.
Evoking the sun-soaked sound that has become his staple, this brand-new rendition delivers a vibrant blend of cultures while retaining the heart and infectious energy of the original.
Expanding his world music repertoire, Witz transcends borders once more with this lively, Spanish-language reimagining of his acclaimed track ‘My Island’. The single features Quino McWhinney, the legendary frontman of Big Mountain – best known as the voice behind the 1994 global smash hit, ‘Baby, I Love Your Way’.
Driven by an effortless vocal blend and a seamless fusion of genres, the duo delivers an irresistible Latin-reggae anthem about tuning out the noise, escaping to a dreamlike paradise, and finding inner peace.
Adding to the track’s star power, ‘Mi Isla’ boasts a stellar creative team: it was co-written by legendary Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Jeff Barry (co-writer of timeless classics like ‘Be My Baby’ and ‘River Deep – Mountain High’), produced by Grammy-winner Native Wayne Jobson, and features iconic, 13-time Grammy-nominated drummer Sly Dunbar (whose credits include Bob Dylan, Grace Jones, and Peter Tosh).
Yet beneath the celebrated names lies a song of profound spiritual resonance, rooted in Witz’s transformative healing journey following his recovery from Ramsay Hunt Syndrome. Enhancing its atmospheric feel, the track even incorporates Solfeggio chakra frequencies designed for deep listening and spiritual elevation.
Reflecting on a collaboration infused with love, celebration, and cross-cultural connection, Quino shared: “Songs like ‘Mi Isla’ live forever.”
