Delilah Isabella, a queer, sapphic artist with experience as a disabled theatre musical theatre performer, puts everything into ‘Musical Theatre Tears’, heart and soul. Describing the song, she says,

“At its core, it’s about losing dear friendships and a love for something, and yet finding your way back to it even if you have to leave some parts behind along the way. People move on and life starts anew”.

Delilah Isabella’s voice is strong and purposeful right from the start, as she sets forth the song’s purpose, opening with the line, “Save your musical theatre tears for another girl”, establishing it with theatrical imagery, such as “this one’s writing herself a script”, which portray loss and betrayal in her unique way.

Recorded at Hackney Road Studios alongside close friend and collaborator, Greg Hummel, ‘Musical Theatre Tears’ is Delilah Isabella’s first release from her upcoming project, ‘Return to Restless Dreamland Collection’, which evolved from music that was originally written around ten years ago.

‘Musical Theatre Tears’ is set for release on the 30th of October, and is available to pre-save here.
