Vancouver Producer DJ Medication Is Better Off Alone With New Single

Set for release on the 22nd of October, Vancouver producer DJ Medication’s new single, ‘Better Off Alone’ is a bittersweet follow up to his hit single, ‘Stars Are Falling’.

‘Better Off Alone’ is available to pre-save here.

‘Better Off Alone’ came about after DJ Medication went through some ups and downs in the quest for love, and came to the realisation that sometimes it’s better to go it alone. Rather than letting it drag him down, he turned these experiences into a dynamic story about moving forward after heartbreak, one which is wholly relatable to anyone who has also gone through the same thing.

Relaxed instrumentals are layered underneath a hyperpop vocal track, while a catchy hook loops the whole piece together, drawing the listener in to contemplate the lyrics more deeply.

DJ Medication first set out into music in the early 2010s, following a show in Vancouver by Skrillex, which left an indelible mark on him, and inspired him to explore production, mixing, and mastering for himself.

Since that time, he’s released tracks through independent labels, with his early singles, ‘7UP’, and ‘Drop Low’ garnering support from influential radio heavyweights such as Pete Tong, Annie Mac, and Shiba San.

In addition to his own releases, DJ Medication has made an effort to help raise the status of emerging Canadian artists, making a name for himself as a trusted producer and collaborator in Vancouver’s music community, across a range of genres, including Hip-Hop, Punjabi Rap, Pop, and Dance.

‘Better Off Alone’ is available to pre-save here, and you can find out more about DJ Medication and his music online on Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, Spotify, and Apple Music.
