LION BABE Brings the Sound, Style & Energy to NYC Fashion Week With Fashion Week — ThisIsRnB Exclusive Premiere + Interview

ThisIsRnB is giving you the first listen to LION BABE’s new single “Fashion Week” today, Thursday, September 3, one day ahead of its official release on Friday, September 4.

New York duo LION BABE (Jillian Hervey and Lucas Goodman) are bringing their signature blend of soul, groove and undeniable style to the moment with a track that feels right at home in the city that has always helped shape their creative identity.

“Fashion Week” is playful, confident and full of attitude, capturing the excitement of getting dressed, stepping out and owning your presence. Produced by DJ and songwriter Never Dull, the song delivers the kind of infectious energy that makes you want to turn it up while getting ready for a night out on the town and dance floor.

The timing is especially fitting as LION BABE steps into the Fashion Week spotlight with a special performance in New York, bringing their music directly into a world where fashion and self-expression have always been part of their story. Jillian will also be walking the runway for a haute couture designer.

But there’s more.

ThisIsRnB is also bringing you an exclusive interview with LION BABE!

ThisIsRnB’s Kadeja had an incredible conversation with Jillian and Lucas, and they were open, engaging, and genuinely wonderful to talk with. They gave us an inside look at their creative world, their approach to music and fashion, and what’s ahead for one of R&B’s most distinctive duos. Their journey has taken them from intimate beginnings to major stages including Coachella, Glastonbury, Lollapalooza, AFROPUNK, and Essence Festival while earning 300 million streams along the way.

Since emerging in 2012, LION BABE has continued to create its own lane, blending R&B, funk, soul and electronic sounds while building a visual identity that is every bit as recognizable as the music. Their creative journey has included collaborations with artists such as Pharrell Williams, Childish Gambino, Disclosure, Busta Rhymes and Mark Ronson, along with performances on some of the world’s biggest stages. They’ve also shared stages with some of music’s most respected names, including Alicia Keys, Erykah Badu, Nas and Nile Rodgers.

And yet, what makes this new chapter especially exciting is that LION BABE still sounds like a duo having fun.

That feeling came through loud and clear during our exclusive ThisIsRnB interview. Jillian and Lucas were incredibly open, engaging and genuinely enjoyable to speak with. The conversation went beyond simply talking about a new song—we got a chance to hear the stories, ideas and creative energy behind where LION BABE is headed next.

Fashion has remained a natural extension of that artistry. Jillian’s fearless personal style and the duo’s ability to move between music, culture and fashion have made LION BABE a standout far beyond the traditional boundaries of an R&B act.

Now they are adding another chapter with “Fashion Week.”

The single officially arrives Friday, September 4, but ThisIsRnB readers get an exclusive first listen today.
